Motorola LaJolla, Affordable Android Phone

Based on the source code of Android mobile phone made by Motorola CLIQ recently, found some clues about the next Motorola Android Phone. Besides Morrison (CLIQ), Motus, and Zeppelin, there is a new name code called LaJolla.

LaJolla is the Spanish language which means “jewel”, and also the name of a location in San Diego California, where the office of Motorola are.

After further explored, Motorola LaJolla known to have the following specifications:

* Qualcomm 7201A processor (528 MHz ARM11)
* Keypad MAX7359
* Control Kionix accelerometer 3-axis
* The Motorola touch screen Hello i2c (240 x 400 pixels)

The most interesting feature here is the resolution, which is not yet supported by Android at this time. This feature is only supported by Google recently through the Android SDK 2.0.1.

With such a small screen, LaJolla could be one of the devices will be sold by Motorola with $ 150-250 price range, so  far below the price of Motorola Android phone currently is $ 399 (CLIQ) and $ 559 (Droid).

LaJolla predicted may be a clam phone (clamshell) since the discovery of the MDDI controller that connects Sharp upper and lower side of a flip phone (clamshell). Currently there are no flip Android phone. If you look at the existing specifications, especially the screen and the chosen form of shells, some speculated that this device will be shaped like a W61SH Sharp also has the display 240 × 400 pixels.
