AT&T officially announces LG Nitro HD smartphone, this 4G phone equipped with a 720p (1280 x 720 pixel) display, 4.5-inch True HD AH-IPS (Advanced High-Performance In-Plane Switching) display that has a 500 nit brightness level and an RGB stripe sub-pixel array.

LG has announced their newest Optimus lineup, this Android 2.3 Gingerbread powered smartphone called LG Optimus Sol (Sol means the Sun).The smartphone is dubbed Sol because of its high clarity display which allows the user to read content on the screen even if it’s bright outside

LG Optimus Sol is claimed to be the most affordable 1GHz Android smartphone with a wide range of visual colors of ‘Ultra AMOLED’ display. This device boasts a thickness of only 9.8mm and offers a full-fledged web browsing experience due to its 1GHz CPU.

The LG Optimus Sol will ship with Flash 10.1 support, an enhanced idle-based power management system, a 5 MP camera with autofocus and fast auto shuttering, DLNA support and Wi-Fi connectivity.

LG Optimus Sol will be available in Europe in mid-September, and will make its way to Central and South America. It will be available in black, titan, and white color options.  Unfortunately, there is no time table for a launch in the United States.
